A new annex to the TSE guidance has been placed on the Department of Health website. This annex is aimed at pathologists and individuals working in pathology laboratories who handle tissues from patients. It aims to ensure that laboratory staff are aware of risk factors for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) or variant CJD (vCJD) prior to carrying out procedures on tissues.
