Posted: 5 August 2009Scottish Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Specialised Services (SPLMS) Board Established
The above Board met on the 29th June under the Co Chairmanship of Dr Aileen Keel (co-Chair) DCMO and Helen Byrne (co-Chair) Director of Acute Services, Implementation and Planning.
The role of the Board is outlined below with the remit and membership attached.
Role of the Board
- Review the provision of non-NSD/HPS funded specialised laboratory services in Scotland;
- Make recommendations to Diagnostics Steering Group for commissioning and decommissioning of specialised services as appropriate;
- Consider the implications for specialised services of specialised equipment and staff with special skills; particularly in terms of ensuring service continuity;
- Consider annual updates received from each MDN, and actions as appropriate.
